We’re nomadic filmmakers with a mobile production studio on four wheels, travelling across the Pacific Northwest and beyond to meet our couples wherever their stories take us. Ember & Alchemy finds its stories in the unplanned moments. About Danie
I have always been drawn to the in-between, the quiet exhales, stolen glances, and electric tension before a vow is spoken. Based in the Pacific Northwest, I’ve spent my career capturing light, emotion, and connection in their most honest forms.
Ember & Alchemy was born from a belief that your story deserves more than a wedding recap. Like an alchemist, I take the raw ember of your connection, the fire, energy, and emotion and transform it into a cinematic heirloom through intentional, story-driven filmmaking.
I don't just create videos. I preserve history.
Whether we're standing on rugged coastal cliffs or beneath sunlit European cathedrals, my goal remains the same: to create a film that doesn't just show what your wedding looked like, but captures what it felt like to live it.
The result is a legacy, crafted to be cherished, shared, and passed down through generations.

Jayne is the voice behind much of Ember & Alchemy.
A storyteller, writer, and creative thinker, Jayne has helped evolve the brand beyond its beginnings, bringing a distinct perspective and a natural ability to turn feeling into beautifully articulated stories.
Together, we capture weddings from two perspectives, finding the fleeting moments, quiet in-betweens, and emotions that make each celebration uniquely yours. Danie brought the original creative vision to life, while Jayne has helped expand and evolve it into something bigger.
Her influence can be felt throughout Ember & Alchemy, from the language we use to the way we think about love, connection, and the stories we preserve.
Because the story doesn't end with the film. It lives in the words, the feeling, and the memories that remain.

For us, Alchemy represents the creative process of taking real moments and transforming them into something timeless.

Weddings Beyond Home
Some stories are rooted close to home. Others call us across oceans, mountain ranges, and winding roads.
Ember & Alchemy is based in British Columbia, but my work regularly takes me far beyond its borders. I document weddings throughout BC, across Canada, and anywhere in the world your story unfolds. If you're planning a destination wedding, an adventurous elopement, or a celebration in a place that feels meaningful to you, I'd be honoured to be part of the journey.
I am currently accepting a limited number of travel weddings for 2026 and 2027. Wherever your path leads, I'd love to hear about it.

Why Does Videography matter?
I believe a wedding film should do more than document a day; it should preserve a feeling.
While photographs freeze a moment, film captures the movement, atmosphere, voices, and invisible emotions that make your story uniquely yours. After more than 12 years of documenting weddings, I've learned that no two love stories share the same rhythm, which is why I don't follow formulas or force moments.
Instead, I immerse myself in the energy of your day, capturing the quiet glances, nervous laughter, heartfelt words, and unrepeatable connections that often fade first from memory.
The result is not a generic wedding recap, but an intentional cinematic heirloom; a living piece of your history that allows you to return to the people, emotions, and moments that matter most for decades to come.
The energy that Danie brings to the wedding day is unmatched. Their perspective and vision for creating all the moments to make up the story of our elopement was seamless. We can not wait to share our day with the rest of our family and we know it will be the moody piece we were hoping for.
